Career & Education Assistance

The center provides access to employment preparation, career development assistance, and on-site presentations by numerous local collaborating partners to more than 500 residents and non-residents annually. Courses in adult basic education, GED classes, English as a second language, and computer skills are provided as well.

Case Management

Case managers provide case management services based on National Best Practices Standards establishing an individualized case plan based on each individual’s unique needs which include setting and accomplishing goals, transportation, advocacy, budgeting skills, housing counseling, and connecting residents to community resources.

Children's Services

Funded by the Riverside County Office of Education, we offer high-quality child care for infants and preschoolers ages zero to five years old with little or no cost to the impoverished parents. The well-appointed facility and its playground offer a stimulating, safe and structured environment. The child care staff members also develop exciting summer camp programs.

Cooling Centers

Our Emergency Housing Residential Facility offers 120 beds with 96 beds for homeless families with children and 24 beds for homeless single adult men and women. Our Residential Facility historically places 90% of its residents into affordable and safe permanent housing ending their cycle of homelessness.

Emergency Assistance

This vital program provides over 35,000 crucial units of emergency services to impoverished members of the community annually. Critical community needs that are addressed are nutritional emergency food boxes, clothing vouchers, crucial infant supplies, and so much more. Monthly, dedicated volunteers prepare bags of donated groceries like fresh vegetables, rice, beans, and other basic essentials for distribution to local neighbors in need.

Food Services

Martha’s Village serves over a quarter of a million hot nutritional meals annually to more than 6,000 impoverished children and adults. All menus served at Martha’s are based on FDA published guidelines.

Martha’s Village has partnered with Borrego Health who operates a community health center open to the public. This partnership provides an array of health services for the homeless in our community and provides access to care for the general public in the city of Indio and surrounding areas. Borrego Health can be reached by calling 760.391.6000.

Our Homeless Recuperative Care program is designed to provide a clean, safe environment for individuals with nowhere to recover following hospital discharge.

Public Showers

We offer those in need 15 minutes to bathe in a safe, secured shower facility. Towels, washcloths, and hygiene bags are available upon request.
