(Indio, California—June 1, 2010) – Twenty-nine 1st graders from King’s School were at Martha's Village & Kitchen on Tuesday, June 1, 2010 to deliver 1,100 books they collected during the past year. It was a class “Community Service Project” for the year. The books will be used by Martha’s Village & Kitchen’s Medical Clinic to give to children who visit the Clinic for medical treatment. Pat Burris, the 1st grade instructor at King’s School, saw a need for the books to be available to the children who visit the Clinic and organized the service project. “At King’s Schools, we have a heavy emphasis on community service and we teach all of our children to serve their community,” stated Karen Beasanski, Assistant Director of Development and Student Events.
