The Village News

When Father Joe Carroll took over a lunch line and thrift store in downtown San Diego 25 years ago, he quickly discovered that providing food and clothing to those in need was simply bandaging a more deeply rooted problem. Through his “one-stop model” Father Joe has pioneered an industry and helped shape social services in America, providing comprehensive services under one roof and emphasizing the most fundamental of all principals – human dignity. We hope you enjoy the Spring 2008 issue of VILLAGE NEWS, which looks at the services, programs, people and projects that Father Joe Carroll built to help our neighbors in need regain their lives.
